This guide explains how to create quality digital media at home.

Production

Production is the second phase in traditional filmmaking. This is the time when all the filming, recording, and gathering of source material happens. When the pre-production planning is completed thoroughly, the production phase is often straightforward and the easiest phase in filmmaking.

Roles Involved: Producer, Director, Camera Operator, Sound Engineer

  • Set up the scene (subject, props, lighting)
  • Check equipment functions
  • Operate the camera
  • Operate the microphone

Use the planning documents created in pre-production (storyboard and filming schedule) to keep track of what scenes have been shot.
