Newspapers at McMaster

McMaster University Library collects newspapers in support of the University's teaching and research requirements and to provide current information to members of the University community. Below is a listing of newspaper collections in various formats at the Library.

Newspapers in Print

MILLS Memorial Library houses the current issues (approximately 1-3 months) of several newspapers in print, including ...

Newspapers on Microfilm

The microfilm for heavily-used newspapers is housed in MILLS Memorial Library in the black microfilm cabinets at the east end of the 3rd floor in alphabetical order by TITLE. The collection is comprised of the following titles:

Financial Post
Financial Times

Guardian* (Manchester)
Gazette (Montreal)
Globe and Mail
Hamilton Spectator
National Post
New York Times

 
Observer
Sunday Star
Sunday Times (London)

Winnipeg Free Press*
* Microfilm subscription cancelled. 


All other newspaper microfilm is housed in the compact shelving units at the east end of MILLS (3rd floor). These titles are shelved in call number order. Call numbers may be obtained by consulting McMaster's library catalogue (included in Omni).

Newspapers Online

The Library provides access to thousands of online newspapers (plain text and/or PDF) through Omni's Journal Search  and a number of databases. To find an online newspaper title, consult the How to Find News guide for a list of sources.
