A Guide to Sustainability

General Information

Drop by the Repair Cafe or become a volunteer!

The concept of a "Repair Cafe" checks off two of the most important Rs in Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Where possible, it is always better to reduce and reuse items first, as recycling isn't always perfect (check out this neat video for more information on the prioritization of the 3R's). Repair Cafes are also a fun way to learn new skills, meet new people, and save some money!

Got something broken? Bring it to Repair Café!

Drop by the free, in-person Repair Cafes for Fall / Winter 2025-26 in Thode Makerspace the last Wednesday of the month (Sept. 24, Oct. 29, Nov. 26, Jan. 28, Feb. 25 and March 25) from 3:30 PM-5:30 PM. Past fixes include clothing & backpacks, bicycles, wooden furniture, small appliances (fans, vacuums, aromatherapy diffusers) and electronics (headphones, laptops). Free coffee, tea, and snacks provided!

Want to help out?  If you’ve got repair skills, consider joining us as a volunteer by filling out our volunteer form!
