Open Educational Resources (OER)

The McMaster University Open Educational Resources (OER) Committee formed from the OER Working Group, which was struck in Fall 2017, at a grassroots level, by Joanne Kehoe, Lead Educational Developer, Digital Pedagogies, MacPherson Institute and Olga Perkovic, Open Education and Scholarship Librarian, University Library. The goal of the Committee is to raise understanding and awareness of the advantages of using OER across the McMaster community.

In addition to meeting regularly through the course of the academic year, members participate in local, provincial and national meetings and events related to OER (and the broader Open Education) and also host events for McMaster students, faculty and staff. Members were also involved in the creation of the OER Grant Program, 2020-2023. To learn more about this 3-year pilot program, see the OER Grant section of this LibGuide.
