The emails containing a link to activate your account will be sent to your McMaster email address. If the email doesn't appear in your inbox, check your spam or junk email folder as they often get filtered. If it isn't in your spam folder, or if more than two weeks have passed, please contact GIS Services.
Account invitations timeout after 14 days. Contact GIS Services to request a new invitation or password reset.
ArcGIS accounts are separate from your MacID and password. Simply follow the steps for forgotten username or password on the sign in page and one of the account administrators can help reset your account.
No, you don’t need to start over!
The content from your public account can be transferred to your organizational account. See the guide on transferring content between ArcGIS accounts using the ArcGIS Assistant.
Yes! By setting up a "shared update group", all members of that group can contribute and edit the content that has been shared with the group. If you would like a shared update group created, please contact GIS Services with the group name and members.
Accounts are available for current students, staff, and faculty for the purpose of teaching and research at McMaster. Access to accounts will be removed following graduation or leaving the university. At that time, content can be transferred to a willing permanent staff or faculty member who can access or edit the content if need be.
"Credits are the currency used across ArcGIS and are consumed for specific transactions and types of storage, such as storing features, performing analytics, and using premium content. Any ArcGIS software that interacts with ArcGIS Online, such as ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Insights, or ArcGIS Field Maps, can use credits" (Esri).
To view your credit balance, log in to ArcGIS Online, click on your name in the top right corner, go to My settings, then Credits.
For more information on credits and how they are consumed, see Understand credits.
