"A standard is a document that provides a set of agreed-upon rules, guidelines or characteristics for activities or their results. Standards establish accepted practices, technical requirements, and terminologies for diverse fields" (Source: Standards Council of Canada).

The library provides digital access to standards collections from several organizations:

• CSA (Canadian Standards Association)
• ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers)
• ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers)
• ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)
• IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)
