  • In this one-on-one appointment, an academic coach can help you with studying, critical thinking, time management and goal-setting skills.

  • Academic peer mentors are experienced upper-year students who can help you develop your academic skills.

Underground Peer Tutoring Network

  • A peer tutor can help you review course content and key concepts so you can complete assignments. Note: there is a small fee associated with this service, but we cap that fee so it remains well below the average cost of a tutor.

Dissertation Writing Intensive

  • Email writing@mcmaster.ca for more information.
  • Taking place over three consecutive days, the Dissertation Writing Intensive is designed to give participants the space and focus needed to make substantial writing progress in a concentrated period of time. This program is offered at least once per academic term and is facilitated concurrently in virtual and in-person formats.

  • Join a drop-in writing session run by an Academic Skills program support assistant who creates a focused environment of accountability so grad students can progress on their coursework, thesis, dissertation, or any other work.
