Why Use Books?

Books are a great resource to use when searching for general information on a topic. They are useful for understanding a topic in its context and provide summaries of existing research as well as offer a historical perspective.

Books are best located using the Search feature on the library's homepage. Enter your search terms and view the results. Use the drop-down menu on the results page to select 'McMaster Library (Catalogue only)' or use the 'Books' modifier on the left side of the page to limit the results to print and eBooks. Narrow the results further by selecting the modifier 'Available in McMaster Libraries' for print books or 'Available online' for eBooks.
